How I got my car towed?
Last Friday I got my car towed, and I had to go to the car yard to pick it up the following Saturday. I just want to note down my experience while I still remember.
Tl; dr;
Cost to release the car: $453 for cars towed inside City of Melbourne. The price differs depending on the municipality.
I needed driving license, and the registration number of the car to release it.
It looks like all cars towed inside Melbourne region are in the yard at 34 Cromwell Street, Collingwood, VIC 3066.
How it happened?
I parked on the side of Spencer street and Lonsdale street for a couple of minutes. I ran up to my apartment to get my things and when I went down, the truck had my car and was towing it away.

Note to myself: I should not park there within the hours specified in the sign.
Getting it back
The next morning, I went to the car yard where the car was stored. I know about this via Flexicar support, since it was their car. The building was easy to find, however, the entrance is a small door that you need to walk in, just right next to the big door where cars normally going in and out.
After walking in, I showed my driving license and told the staff about the license plate of the car. Then they asked for the fine and it was $453.

It’s a massive fee to release the car. However, it will go into auction if the owner doesn’t get it out. So it was a fee I had to pay.
Summary
Well I think I learned my lesson. And I will be more careful next time so that this does not happen again.
