This translates into a higher chance that they will stay with me and the company for longer. If you employ people, you know that retaining employees is one of the hardest thing to do. We need to do everything to keep them happy and therefore hopefully they will stay with the company for a bit longer. As a result, if I get someone who has a degree, chances are they will stay with me for longer if I treat them well.

Earning a bachelor’s degree demonstrates that candidates possess the discipline and work ethic necessary to consistently pursue goals. The academic rigours of completing a degree require individuals to manage their time effectively, meet deadlines, and balance multiple responsibilities. I have seen this trait from candidates who have not graduated from a university. However, the percentage of this showing in candidates with bachelor degree is much higher. They have been trained in 4 years of university to work with other people, managing deadlines, optimizing their time, etc. This means that we may not need to teach them too much on those soft skills.
